Psychedelic Soul Artist Terri J. to Launch Eclectic 10-Track Album

“I don’t really like to sing about breakups too much. I like to sing about love and promote it however I can. That being said, heartbreak is a real thing and we have to talk about it sometimes.”

Terri J. blends her singular songwriting style and euphoric harmonies with rhythms inspired by Soul music from the 60s and 70s. The artist also incorporates various Neo-Soul influences into her music, resulting in a record that sounds classic yet fresh at the same time.
Terri J. teamed up with Producer/Guitarist Mat Gilbert to create the cosmic adventure that is Groovy Moovy. The album’s instrumentation and lyrics intertwine to represent a beautifully captivating reflection of both Terri’s and Mat’s creative styles. This enchanting 10-track record represents how different styles can fuse together to form something new.

“I saw Terri composing a lot of this stuff a capella, building chords by ear with only vocals. I think that approach is a big part of her unique style. She has a great ear that allows her to take the harmony to unusual places based on what sounds good. We have created a larger-than-life sound with only drums, bass, guitar, and vocals.”

Terri J. is an iconic, International Recording Artist originally from Memphis, TN. After 14 years and counting, she has continued to spread her musical footprint across the West Coast of the US via the San Francisco Bay Area where she recorded her first album. She can also be found doing live performances of her original music at well-known venues such as Brick & Mortar Music Hall and Cornerstone Berkeley. Her new album Groovy Moovy houses eclectic gems such as her hit singles “Lie,” a classic retake on “Let’s Stay Together,” and the title track “Groovy Moovy.” Her recent live performance of “Lie” in Oakland, CA secured her the 1st Place title at Oakland’s Got Talent 2023.
