Vorlust Unleashes Cinematic Soundtrack For ‘SHRIEEK’
Bay Area Death Metal Band Expands Sonic Horizons for Marcelle Marais’ Short Film

July 3, 2025 (San Francisco, CA) – VORLUST, Bay Area’s death metal powerhouse, has broken new ground by composing and performing the original score for SHRIEEK, a short psychological horror film written and directed by Marcelle Marais. (Watch the trailer here.) Best known as Cunnus, the band’s ferocious frontwoman and bassist, Marais brings her uncompromising vision full circle with a film that pulses with tension and a soundtrack to match.
While often labeled death metal, VORLUST defines their sound as BEAST METAL—a self-proclaimed term that captures the band’s raw, visceral sonic power. This project gave them the chance to stretch that sound beyond the pit and into the cinematic realm.
