Kilometre Music Group Acquires Catalogue of Music Producer Cardo

Music publisher Kilometre Music Group announced that it has acquired the complete publishing catalogue of American hit record producer Cardo (Ronald Latour Jr.).

Music publisher Kilometre Music Group announced that its Barometer Global Music Royalty Fund (the Fund) has acquired the complete publishing catalogue of American hit record producer Cardo (Ronald Latour Jr.). The deal includes Drake’s Billboard Hot 100 #1 single “God’s Plan,” along with many other Drake songs, including “Wants and Needs” featuring Lil Baby and “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk.

Additional key titles in the 350-song catalogue transaction include Travis Scott’s 2016 smash “Goosebumps,” which has 3.3 billion streams on Spotify, along with additional Travis Scott songs “Through the Late Night” featuring Kid Cudi and “Who? What?” from 2018’s iconic Astroworld album. Cardo has also co-written numerous songs with Kendrick Lamar, including “euphoria,” “Savior,” “GOD.,” “Big Shot” with Travis Scott, and “Family Ties” with Baby Keem. Other titles of note in the deal include “Slide” by H.E.R, as well as Don Toliver’s “Private Landing” featuring Justin Bieber and Future.

Rodney Murphy, Kilometre President, had this to say about the newest addition to The Fund;

“Cardo is a prolific music producer who has made some of the most culturally impactful songs for some of the biggest artists of the streaming era. Kilometre’s partnership with Cardo is of great importance to us and we feel privileged to be a part of his life’s work.”

“Thank you to my team, my lawyer and Kilometre for giving me an opportunity to buy a spaceship now,” said Cardo upon finalizing the deal.

Kilometre CFO James Freeman added:

“The Fund’s investment in music rights is now approaching $150 million USD and this deal further solidifies Kilometre Music Group as a leading force in modern music publishing. Kilometre continues to build on its core mission to build a premium song portfolio comprised of the biggest hits by the most important artists from the greatest era of growth in music industry history.”
