The Long Player is not just a musical journey; it’s a testament to resilience, dedication, and a love for the art that transcends time. The artist, who put his promising music career on hold to raise a family, returns after 27 years to a transformed musical landscape, creating an album that reflects his experiences, observations, and emotions.

ABOUT THE ALBUM
All 11 songs on the album were crafted on an acoustic guitar, providing a cohesive thread throughout. However, the album showcases Lebental’s versatility with each track uniquely arranged, textured, and presenting a captivating blend of Rock, Blues, Americana, and Singer-Songwriter elements.
Beyond the material on the LP, this artist has some interesting storylines that include:
- Modern Day Musical Rip Van Winkle: A story of pausing a music career, returning after 27 years, and navigating a changed musical terrain.
- Busking Across America: Lebental fulfills a lifelong dream of touring the US, sharing the adventure of a 62-year-old man, his wife, one guitar, and a cell phone camera.
- A Promise Fulfilled: Lebental, whose son was saved by Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, dedicates all proceeds from the Vinyl LP & CD sales to the institution.
“I find being in the mountains inspirational. Getting away from all the sounds of the city and hearing the wind through the trees is incredible. ‘Granite Meadow’ describes my experience in a meadow where I felt connected to everything around me.”

PHILANTHROPIC WORK
In a heartwarming gesture, Lebental fulfills a personal promise by donating all proceeds from his new album The Long Player to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, where his son was saved 20 years ago.
About Dave Lebental:
Dave Lebental, a veteran rocker, made waves in the ’90s LA Club scene, opening for ex-Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor. Despite promising prospects and gigs alongside notable artists, his big break eluded him. A few months after a Mick Taylor gig, family priorities led him to trade rock n’ roll for a day job.
Fast forward 27 years, Lebental, now 62, found renewed creative spark as an empty nester. Exploring the modern music landscape, he embraced digital recording and social media, crafting his debut solo LP, “The Long Player.” The 11-track album, influenced by James Taylor, Ryan Adams, The Eagles, Tom Petty, and The Beatles, showcases old-school analog performances with multi-track recording.
Happy as an independent artist, Lebental seeks to connect with his audience. After releasing “Granite Meadow” in 2021, he’s set to unveil his first full-length LP to a substantial online following of 38,000 on Facebook and 1,000,000 digital music fans. Performing with his band, The Driftwood Souls, and solo, Lebental’s upcoming tour dates and performances can be found at dlmusic.us.
